Dear customers, dear Yamaha dealers,

After experiencing a difficult 2020, we told ourselves that the hardest part was behind us with this coronavirus pandemic, both in terms of public health and on an economic level for us.

The initial outlook for 2021 was and remains very positive. Demand has recovered strongly since last summer, supported by a strong committed dealer network, with many new products expected.

Unfortunately, that hasn't really been the case since we entered the 2021 season, now that the long-term effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the supply chain are being felt, and those effects are only making it more difficult to achieve our goal of fulfill our key mission of making enough products available through our broad dealer network.

Over the past ten months, the availability of raw materials has become an issue in many areas, such as semiconductors needed to manufacture our smart keys, ABS brake systems, ECUs, etc. Shipping products from overseas has also been problematic due to very high demand for many categories of manufactured goods, but these problems were even greater early in the season due to the unexpected crisis in the Suez Canal, involving the container ship “Ever Given”, which was unfortunately carrying several thousand Yamaha products and components.

Everyone here at Yamaha, from purchasing to the factory, logistics and sales teams, is working hard to minimize this impact and ensure that all available products will be delivered. At the same time, we also seek to provide the most accurate availability information to our European dealer network, in the face of what was and remains a very unpredictable situation.

However, and fortunately, the situation will improve in the days, weeks and months to come. Your patience is greatly appreciated and we are confident that this patience will be rewarded with the great experience you will receive from your motorcycle, scooter, outboard motor, WaveRunner or any other Yamaha product you have chosen.

In the meantime, while everyone here at Yamaha is working hard to resolve all of the issues generated by the pandemic, and also to rapidly increase our total number of deliveries, we understand that waiting for product delivery can be frustrating, and we are truly sorry. Therefore, we sincerely hope that you will accept our apologies for any delays incurred.
