Clearly standing out from the crowd with its ultra-aggressive look and its little-used technical solutions, the Italjet Dragster has managed to build up a following, mainly in Italy. Available in 125cc, 200cc and 300cc, the machine with its original tubular frame and equipped with a single front arm quickly became an object of desire, for those ready to pay between 6099 and 7099 euros depending on the engine capacity.

Last March, the Team Gresini MotoGP has entered into an agreement with the Italjet firm founded in 1959 by Leopoldo Tartarini, in order to offer a limited edition Gresini Racing MotoGP of its emblematic model. Even if thermal engines are now banned in the MotoGP paddock, the operation was a huge success since, according to the communications department of the Castel Guelfo di Bologna brand, everything was purchased “before we even had a chance to officially announce the details or its availability. This overwhelming response reflects the immense passion and dedication within the Dragster community. »

The Marc Marquez effect? It must also be said that the 300cc beast sold for €9499 was equipped with Öhlins suspensions, an Akrapovič exhaust, MotoGP-style fins, and a plate numbered from 0 to 50, enough to motivate young enthusiasts and/or fans. or collectors.

Faced with such success, Italjet decided to release a series, less limited this time, of the Dragster in Gresini colors, without the accessories of the limited series, in all displacements and at the usual price increased by €300 to €400.

This series is not yet visible on the Italjet website and, when asked, the communications department answered us “the Gresini limited edition will have to be pre-ordered through our website soon”.
