When Venom meets Spiderman on RPHA 12!

HJC is the 1^er helmet manufacturer to have obtained the famous Marvel® comics license. Among the comic book characters selected by the brand, two particularly caught the attention of the HJC and Marvel® teams: Spider-Man and Venom. Following the first trailers for the film Venom 3, which will be released in the fall of 2024 and in which we find Tom Hardy in the role of Venom and Tom Holland in the costume of Spider-Man, HJC unveils a new unique helmet graphic which brings together the two characters on a base of the unpublished RPHA 12. With one side Venom and the other Spider-Man. This unique graphic will delight Venom helmet collectors.

About the RPHA 12:

Unconditional fans of the RPHA sports helmet at HJC will find in the RPHA 12 line the characteristics which have contributed to the success of the brand since its entry into MotoGP in 2010 with RPHA 10 worn at the time by Texan rider Ben Spies.

For 2024, a brand new version has been unveiled. Recognizable at first glance, the model has evolved somewhat and retained its design, thus marking an obvious connection with its predecessor. This development also marks the model's transition to the ECE 22.06 standard with the development of a new multi-fiber shell made using the PIM EVO process developed by HJC. It gives pride of place to lightness and sportiness with, as always, strong points: aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, comfort, ventilation, finish, field of vision and safety. But as we move a little closer, the developments reveal themselves.

A new screen and new decks, always removable without tools, the screen benefits from a mechanism which, once closed, ensures hermetic contact with the seal. A new screen lock system appears on the left side. The 2D type screen receives a new Pinlock® MaxVision type 120 whose upper seal is hidden just under the helmet seal, favoring the quality of vision behind the bubble when looking up in order to compensate for the lying position. The HJ-42 screen is also pre-equipped to receive tear-offs.

Advanced ventilation, it too is making strong progress with a revised internal channel system coupled with new air intakes and extractors. At the front, new chin guard and forehead ventilation have been added to allow the entry of a greater volume of air compared to the previous model.

The side air intakes characteristic of sports RPHAs benefit on this new model from a reworked mechanism to bring air inside the hull and diffuse the air when the inlets are closed. They have a silicone strip to make them easier to open and close. The hot air is evacuated by the extractors hidden under the spoiler.

Aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, the RPHA 12 is progressing with work in the wind tunnel which focused on better dispersion of air flows around the helmet at high speed. The external elements have been reworked to offer the best compromise between efficiency, aerodynamics and reduction of noise generated by air flows along the hull. The new screen is slightly curved at the level of the plates to accompany the convex line of the headset. A bypass channel has been added in the new exterior vents to reduce air drag and noise. The bib at the chin and the foam around the neck also help to reduce aeroacoustic noise.

Support, comfort, from 2XS to 2XL. The RPHA 12 benefits from a brand new interior, a new construction which incorporates the latest advances in comfort and support from HJC. The RPHA 12 is available from 2XS to 2XL with four shell sizes and five EPS foam liner sizes. For a better fit, the RPHA 12 benefits from a standardized system for fixing the comfort foams, this allows them to be replaced by others of different thicknesses available as accessories. The cheek pads retain an emergency extraction system allowing easy and quick removal if necessary. They are covered with an antibacterial, anti-odor and anti-perspirant fabric.

The RPHA 12 slots into the range between the very radical RPHA 1 and the more versatile F71, it arrives in stores fourteen years after the first model which opened the way to a new generation of helmets at HJC. With this new model, the Korean manufacturer confirms a certain leadership in the helmet market and its know-how in designing and producing stylish, high-quality helmets.
