Dunlop is upgrading its TrailMax range with a Meridian version. The tire in the road trail segment gains in lifespan while benefiting from a tread specially designed for good performance in the dry and wet on and off-road. Presentation.

Above the excellent TrailSmart Max, the new Trailmax Meridian has been specially developed for technically rich maxi-trails with state-of-the-art technologies. The BMW GS, Honda Africa Twin, Suzuki V-Strom and Triumph Tiger segment are on the rise, the new tire is made for them.

Dunlop announces a mileage increase of 15 points on angles of 40° and 15% in a straight line compared to its predecessor. Dmitri Talboom, Dunlop product manager, explains: “Our studies have shown that riders need longevity for work/home commutes or walks, while still maintaining high performance on winding mountain roads or for weekend trips to countryside. »
“This gain is also important for the front tire, which allows its mileage potential to be balanced with the rear tire. This becomes an advantage for the motorcyclist who can change both tires in a single visit to his preferred “Dunlop Certified” dealer,” specifies the manufacturer.

On the technical side, we will note reworked sculptures to improve efficiency, particularly for better water evacuation and greater grip in the dry. Rubber compound with a high silica content, rayon fiber carcass plies for a faster temperature rise will be on the program. We highlight a new central rubber which extends under the shoulder mixture to reinforce the rigidity of the rear tire and for sporty handling as well as greater traction when you want to put on power. Off-road capabilities will be there with a design inspired by ice ax claws. Performance in mud or dry conditions is, according to Dunlop, comparable to that of the TrailSmart Max.
