Moto Guzzi pulled out all the stops for its 100th anniversary. So far, the Mandello Del Lario-based brand has honored the occasion with a commemorative book, limited edition liveries and a traveling exhibition. Sure, the centennial festivities have prompted countless throwback lists of Moto Guzzi's most iconic models, but the company's own celebratory poster hinted that a new platform was in the works.

After months of silence, it seems that Moto Guzzi is preparing the next model. Avid Moto.it reader Mauro Lardini recently spotted the model from the range during a photo shoot near Lake Como, Italy. Luckily for us, the savvy detective captured a few photos with his smartphone and posted the images on his Instagram account.

While the low-resolution photos may leave us squinting, they also reveal more information about Moto Guzzi's next big launch. Leaning even further into the centenary theme, a new V100 engine will power the new sport-tourer. Due to the nomenclature, many suspect that the transverse V-twin will have a displacement of 1 cc and produce 000 horsepower. Liquid cooling is also planned for the new machine, to enable future models to meet increasingly strict European emissions regulations.

The images confirm a road-oriented model with 17-inch wheels and a padded saddle for the rider and passenger, to rack up the miles without worries. While luggage hasn't made an appearance yet, the screen and high handlebars suggest a riding position suitable for long road trips. Moto Guzzi's retro style evolves, offering a more streamlined fairing with a decidedly more modern look.

With EICMA taking place in just two months, we hope the brand will reveal official details in the weeks leading up to the annual show. After all, the announcement of a new model would be a fitting end to Moto Guzzi's centenary celebration.
