The Korean manufacturer HJC continues to renew its range, model after model. This progression inexorably contributes to establishing the image and notoriety of HJC as a generalist brand. This year is the big return of the semi-jet at HJC with the new i40. A segment left vacant since the discontinuation of the very chic IS-Arty in 2015.
The demi-jets are models favored by the southern European markets but also by city dwellers in more particularly neat variations with small touches of elegance such as the Unova version. For the occasion, the i40 benefits from a unique shell with a modern and dynamic line, manufactured in polycarbonate using the CAD process developed by HJC. One of the advantages of the demi-jet is that it can be accommodated in almost all trunks. saddle and smaller top boxes. The shell of the i40 has been lengthened to provide both better support and, above all, more protection than traditional half-jets. The Unova version is available in five versions including a blue and a khaki, both matt satin colors found on the X-Max and MP3 scooters in recent years. Two other colors are particularly suited to two-wheel users.
In terms of comfort, the i40 benefits from thick foam covered with antibacterial SilverCool treated fabric. They are removable and washable for maintenance. Ventilation of the interior of the helmet is provided by a single front air intake but allows the entry of a large flow of air inside the shell. The demi-jet i40 is equipped with an anti-UV sunscreen in addition to the main screen. This can be dismantled without tools thanks to a mechanism around an automatic locking push button.
