Motorcycling is more fun in summer when it's nice and warm than in winter when it's rainy. But unless you're a fan of the shorts/flip-flops combo, it's often very hot under protective clothing, and it's not the most pleasant. RS Taichi, a Japanese manufacturer that offers motorcycle accessories, mainly clothing and protection, has created a liquid cooling system for the rider.

How to stay cool on the road on a motorcycle? Every biker has their own solution: some people wear so-called technical equipment, soak it in water and wear it under their perforated textile or leather jacket to let the air circulate and work its magic of evaporation. It's an extremely simple solution but it requires changing when you stop, so as not to come across as someone with excessive sweating problems!

Another solution is even simpler: empty a bottle of water over your head at each stop! The Japanese are also familiar with very hot summers and have developed the water bottle to a professional level: the LiquidWind, water cooling for bikers, so to speak.

RS Taichi has teamed up with Japanese men's cosmetics company Mandom Corporation to create LiquidWind. The principle of LiquidWind is based on the strategic soaking of a piece of clothing inside the jacket. But here, this coolant is distributed in droppers. It is fragrance-free, but contains deodorant and menthol to amplify the feeling of freshness and keep it smelling pleasant all day long.

The mechanism is simple: a spray is attached to a belt around the waist. From this spray bottle, a hose goes up the upper body and wraps around the neck. In the neck area, the hose has holes so that water escapes when the vaporizer is used and is distributed up and down over the chest and back, over a specially developed t-shirt.

RS Taichi also sells an additional mesh vest, the Airflow Vest, which should amplify the cooling effect as it creates an additional air pocket between the jacket and the base LiquidWind t-shirt.

The LiquidWind-Starter kit includes the spray bottle, spray bottle holder and belt, hose and a 300ml pack of LiquidWind Water, and costs the equivalent of €46. The technical t-shirt costs the equivalent of €36, the Airflow Vest is available for the equivalent of €45. The coolant is available in a 300ml refill which should be enough for a day trip and cost the equivalent of €5.

This kit is currently sold at RS Taichi retailers throughout Japan, and it is not yet known whether it will be available in Europe.
