Who doesn't like the sound of a three-cylinder engine, fueled throughout the entire rev range? The flagship model of the Hinckley brand, the 1200 Triumph Speed Triple 2021 RS, has a very distinct and exhilarating exhaust note. Like any self-respecting motorcyclist, it is relatively common to change the exhaust system of your motorcycle for a less imposing model that provides an aesthetic touch. Italian exhaust manufacturer SC Project recently introduced new exhausts for the 1200 Speed Triple 2021 RS, as well as the Speed Triple 1200 RR. All of these exhaust systems have been designed for road use, and are very easy to install thanks to their slip-on configuration.
Among this year's new products at SC-Project we find the CR-T silencer. Inspired by the SC Project exhaust systems found on Moto2 machines, this one is available for the Speed Triple 1200 RS and RR, offers a slim and athletic aesthetic, effectively replacing the stock muffler which gives the bike a relatively clumsy appearance.
For the latest generation of the Speed Triple which will soon celebrate its thirty years of existence, SC-Project offers this double silencer with a titanium or carbon casing. It complies with Euro5 regulations and takes the position of the original silencer and the connection of the lambda probe.
Next, the SC1-R GT silencer was modeled on the SC1-R developed specifically for competition and offers a cleaner aesthetic with a single large silencer. Just like the CR-T, the SC1-R GT is also available in carbon fiber or titanium. It features an asymmetrical carbon tip, with lines that extend to the base of the silencer. SC Project has fitted the SC1-R GT with an internal liner of sound-deadening material that produces a "deep, dark sound" for a sporty yet respectable exhaust note. The price of the SC1-R GT in carbon or titanium is €780.
These two exhaust options have been available since the end of November 2021, more information and technical specifications are of course available on the official SC Project website. Importantly: the CR-T and SC1-R GT are street legal and are Euro5 approved, meaning they comply with noise and emissions parameters set in Europe.
