Collecting Cars, a UK-based online exotic car auction, launched in October 2018 with the aim of offering the world's closest to new condition collector cars online. As of September 2019, this sale has exceeded 1 million pounds in sales (approximately $1,3 million). Growth continued and, to date, Collecting Cars has bidders in over 100 countries and recorded sales of 223 million pounds (approximately $291 million) and auctioned rare exotics like the 1 McLaren P2015 , which achieved a world online auction platform record with an astronomical price of $1.

Now, due to growing demand, the auction platform is diving its digital reach into the world of motorcycles with a focus on exotic superbikes. Collecting Cars launches its first ever global online auction called Superbike Sunday from April 17 to 24, offering collectors around the world the opportunity to bid on rarities from multiple collectors with the click of a button from home.

And there is something for everyone, including homologated motorcycles or rare racing machines, and of all brands, including Aprilia, Bimota, BMW, Ducati, Honda, KTM, Magni, MV Agusta, Suzuki and Triumph.

“While we launched in 2019 offering only cars, we quickly branched out into much more, including collector motorcycles and automobiles,” said Collecting Cars founder and CEO Edward Lovett. “We have already sold over 200 motorcycles on Collecting Cars, but our first Superbike Sunday auction really highlights the breadth and depth of our global expertise. There are some incredibly rare, low mileage machines out there that will no doubt be fought over by enthusiasts around the world. »

Take for example a 2008 Ducati Desmosedici RR with just 3 miles on the odometer, which is #496 of 267 models produced and hasn't been ridden since 1. The bike is in full race configuration. Also under the auctioneer's hammer is a 500 Honda VFR2012R RC750, one of 30 produced to comply with World Superbike homologation rules, currently owned by Honda specialist Rick Oliver.

There's also a Yamaha RD500 YPVS Marlboro Special, a road-legal tribute to three-time 500cc World Champion rider Kenny Roberts. This model has been kept in heated storage for much of the last 15 years.

Collecting Cars declares start of Superbike Sunday auction "comes on the heels of last month's Supercar Sunday event, which generated $4,4 million in sales, as 24 hand-picked vehicles generated more than 1 bids on the online platform at a period of seven days. »
