Here are the first images of the new Triumph Tiger 1200, photographed during the final stages of testing. From what you can see, it's been completely redesigned and redesigned: the Hinckley-based brand promises it will be the most compact, agile and maneuverable model on the market.

After the camouflaged photos of the new Tiger 660 followed by those stolen from the final model, today it is the turn of the new Triumph Tiger 1200 to be photographed in the final stages of testing. The Hinckley-based manufacturer has set itself the goal of producing the most compact, agile and maneuverable adventure motorcycle on the market. The plus: we are talking about an innovative machine which should revolutionize the segment with a series of innovations.

The goals are ambitious and a lot can be deduced from the images. The bike has completely changed, externally the engine appears to derive from the 1200 cc three-cylinder Tiger currently on the market but it is easy to assume that there have been some modifications, notably to meet Euro5 emissions standards. But perhaps much more has been done: in front of the cylinders there is no longer the large radiator of the previous version, replaced by two smaller units on the sides, arranged longitudinally. As far as you can see, the side fairings are also revised.

The frame is certainly brand new and remains a trellis like on the current version but with a completely different design. The bolted rear loop is also a trellis.

Although the transmission is cardan, as before, the shape of the outer casing has changed and also acts as an oscillating element of the suspension: Triumph has gone from the single-arm to a real oscillating arm, which requires that the brake disc has been moved to the opposite side. The two front discs may have remained unchanged but the radially mounted Brembo calipers are a new model.

The photos were taken during an off-road test session and it makes sense that the wheels are spoked, but it is to be expected that there will also be a more road version with aluminum rims , as is the case in the current range.

Finally, the new design is obvious, although it is cleverly hidden by the stickers: the Tiger 1200 has a more refined appearance. Triumph also confirmed that the new adventure motorcycle is significantly lighter than its close competitors.

Its official presentation should not take long now.
