Triumph

Triumph now has a 660cc three-cylinder which allows it to cast a wide net. A greater number of bikers will thus be able to ride in the English style and the opportunity is already offered with the basic Trident. A playful model whose spirit promises to be a little more alluring in the company of this Tiger Sport version that the brand officially reveals with photos aping espionage...

Triumph unveils the first official photographs of its future Tiger Sport 660 2022, however, with a camouflage outfit which still leaves room to maneuver to maintain curiosity and therefore interest. The mid-displacement sports-trail will arrive on the market next year and will become the second model equipped with the 660 cc, 12-valve, liquid-cooled three-cylinder, delivering a final power of 81 hp at 10 rpm. In the case of Trident 660, this data should remain unchanged.

Waiting for Triumph provides official technical information for its new sport-trail, the images received confirm the all-road rather than all-terrain vocation. Its 17-inch wheels clearly show the vocation of the new Tiger Sport 660: a motorcycle designed to travel on asphalt while enjoying winding mountain roads.

The front fork is from Showa, with greater travel than the Trident. In the brake section there don't seem to be any changes with Nissin two-piston front calipers and conventional anchoring combined with 310mm discs.

At first glance, it also appears that the model will retain the tubular steel perimeter chassis of the Trident 660, although the camouflage does not allow a good view of the frame. It is also unclear whether the original Trident tank of just 14 liters will remain in this Tiger Sport 660 or if its autonomy will be increased with a larger capacity tank.

What price for this Triumph Tiger Sport?

In the electronic part, we imagine that Triumph will transfer the aids currently available on the Trident 660 to this new Tiger Sport 660: electronic accelerator, Road and Rain driving modes, disconnectable traction control and Triumph ABS.

For the instrumentation, taking into account the fact that this Tiger Sport 660 is a motorcycle oriented towards long journeys, we understand that Triumph will equip it with a TFT dashboard larger than that used in its Trident 660, with an aspect circular and classic.

For the moment, the British brand did not wish to give more details on this new model which, probably, will be officially presented at the end of the year at the EICMA in Milan. Nothing is known about its price, although it is interesting to know that the Trident 660 costs 7 995 euros in France, so this Tiger Sport 660 could remain slightly below the 9 euros mark…
