Triumph Motorcycles has revealed numerous teasers of its 2022 range regarding the Tiger 1200. On December 7, 2021, the five new Tiger 1200 models were finally revealed. Now, the adventures you choose to take are entirely up to you, but Triumph wants to make it easier for you by offering both the road-focused Tiger 1200 GT series and the off-road-focused Tiger 1200 Rally series. These Euro 5 compliant motorcycles have been redesigned from the ground up.

Thus, Triumph presented two ranges of products: the more road range has 19″ front and 18″ rear alloy wheels, and is available in the versions Tiger 1200 GT (i.e. the basic version), Tiger 1200 GT Pro (more refined) and Tiger 1200 Explorer, having a 30 liter tank instead of 20. The off-road range, for its part, has spoked wheels, 21 "at the front and 18" at the rear, and consists of the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro with the 20 liter tank and the Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer with the 30 liter tank.

Compared to the past it is a revolution, they weigh 25 kg less than the model they replace and are completely new from the engine onwards. The 2022 Tiger 1200 family is now powered by the same three-cylinder engine, with a displacement of 1 cc, that powers the new Speed Triple. Claimed power is 160 hp at 148 rpm, along with almost 9 Nm of torque at 000 rpm. Triumph is focusing on its T-crankshaft in this engine, which it says is more responsive at low revs, and that it offers a more engaging feel throughout the rev range, all with a pleasant sound.

The tubular frame is also brand new, 5,4 kg lighter than its predecessor and equipped with an all-new three-link swingarm. The whole family mounts the Showa semi-active suspensions, those of the rally versions with greater travel to adapt to the needs of off-road vehicles: in front of an inverted fork with a diameter of 49 mm and behind a shock absorber with automatic electronic preload.

The new Triumph Tiger 1200 features a six-axis inertial platform that oversees all electronic controls, including cornering traction control, cornering ABS and up to 6 riding modes – depending on the model. It also has a 7 "TFT dashboard with system connectivity that allows phone calls, Navigator and Go-Pro control, but the flagship is the Blind Spot Radar System developed in collaboration with Continental: it warns the driver when a vehicle is approaching a blind spot, or when another vehicle behind is about to change lanes (available on GT Explorer and Rally Explorer).

We find the full LED headlight, the Daytime Running Light and on all models except the 1200 GT, and the Adaptive Cornering Lights, the assisted gearbox, are also standard. We also find the device which facilitates restarting on hills and the heated handles; on the Explore also the heated room and tire pressure control.

The muscular but slender silhouette of the new Tiger 1200 is also unique, characterized by clean lines and a lighter front, in which the adjustable screen stands out. It is also possible to adjust the height of the saddle and if necessary a lower saddle is available from the extensive options catalog.

The new Triumph Tiger 1200 family will arrive in dealerships next spring and the price has not yet been disclosed.
