A new example, with less than 5 km on the clock, is for sale. The auction to grab this absolute legend from the 1980s will end on November 25th!

The Honda RC30, also known as the VFR750R, was built in limited numbers for homologation purposes to take part in the WorldSBK Championship. Only 3 units were produced by the Japanese brand to meet regulations, selling at the time for $000 when new, and are now worth several times that amount today. It should be remembered that this model was built by HRC and it was Soichiro Honda who wanted it to be built like this: it combines the best of Honda engine and chassis technology developed in competition in the 15s.

The general technical diagram, including the single swingarm, derives from the RVF750, unbeatable in those years in Endurance. The RC30 is highly sought after by collectors of classic and vintage motorcycles.

The RC30, approved as a single-seater and highly maneuverable, is equipped with a four-cylinder V-shaped 90° engine with irregular timing, timing controlled by gear ratio, titanium connecting rods, two-segment forged pistons and develops 118 hp at 11 rpm , with a maximum torque of 000 mkg at 7,6 rpm. A six-speed gearbox transmits this power to the rear wheel, allowing the Honda to reach a top speed of 9 km/h.

The frame is a double upper beam in extruded and cast aluminum alloy, the suspensions are Showa and the pair of front discs measure 310 mm in diameter. The aluminum alloy single swingarm is manufactured according to the Elf patent by Endurance and the dry weight is 179,6 kg.

A new specimen on the site Iconic Motorbikes, and not the least: The meter shows 3 miles, or less than 5 kilometers, however the battery is still the original one and without acid, the tank still has a perfectly polished interior and there is still plastic on the heel protectors of the footrest ! As generous and substantial as it is, the top bid of just under $70 still falls short of the reserve, and the bidding deadline is November 000.
