No more years of practice and spectacular falls: a Californian startup has just revolutionized the art of wheelie-ing with a machine that makes it literally automatic. The Float Life, known for its electric unicycles, presents the Wheelie Fun Bike V1, a mini electric bike that does the work for you. All you have to do is press a button.
The principle is as simple as it is revolutionary: a "Push to Wheelie" button that lifts the front wheel and holds the motorcycle at a predefined angle, indefinitely, without any rider skill required. Balance is managed electronically by an inertial measurement unit (IMU) that adjusts torque and speed in real time.
Here's the recipe for the miracle: the "Digital Wheelie Bar," an electronic system that acts as an invisible anti-roll bar, preventing a rear-end roll. The "Wheel Lift Resistance" adjusts how easily the wheel lifts during normal acceleration.
The drivetrain is a 5000W unit in the rear hub, capable of pushing the machine to over 50 km/h. A 72V/10Ah battery will take you up to about 50 km from your starting point (20Ah version promises 80 km). On the braking side, there is a classic front disc + regenerative motor brake at the rear. A dedicated application is used to control all the parameters (ride modes, wheelie angle, etc.).
The "wheelie" for dummies but not on the road
Please note: This is not a road-legal vehicle. Without lights, mudguards, or regulatory equipment, it is strictly reserved for circuits, private land, or closed areas. Use on public roads is prohibited.
A "Founders Edition" will be launched in January 2026 in the United States at a price of $2 (approximately €995). No information has been released about a possible European release.
Whether you are an experienced pilot wanting to have fun without risk or a beginner curious about thrills, the Wheelie Fun Bike V1 promises to democratize the wheelie. It remains to be seen whether the purists will accept this automatic version of a figure which was until now a grail of biker mastery.
