Yamaha Motor Europe (AND I) and Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART extension) GYTR Pro Shop have thus unveiled an official limited edition replica of the Petronas Yamaha Sepang Racing Team YZR-M1, with which the team is currently leading the 2020 MotoGP Team World Championship thanks to a sensational start to the season.
Aboard the YZR-M1 PYSRT, Franco Morbidelli et Fabio Quartararo have scored a total of 98 points from the first four GPs of the 2020 season, including two race victories fabio quartararo.
Commissioned by YART, supported by Yamaha Motor Europe and Petronas Yamaha Sepang Racing Team, the YART-designed R1 replica features a series of high-performance updates to bring it closer to the specifications of the Yamaha MotoGP motorcycle on on which it is based.
These updates include everything from the new lightweight and durable Genuine Yamaha Technology for Racing carbon fairing kit (GYTR extension) and MotoGP winglets to the limited edition Petronas Yamaha SRT livery, supplied by the same company that paints the team's MotoGP racing machines, offering exceptional authenticity and exclusivity.
The replica also comes with a series of other unique features. The motorcycle is equipped with suspension Öhlins high-performance race bike, featuring the FGRT 2 road and track front fork, TTX rear shock, race-spec steering damper and is fitted with a factory kit exhaust.
From GYTR, the Petronas Yamaha SRT Replica is equipped with the latest rear wheel quick change system, which allows the rear wheel to be replaced more quickly after a tire change, as well as racing footrests, an ECU and a fast-acting throttle, all essential components on Yamaha's racing machines.
The brakes are made by Brembo, including GP4-RX calipers and high-quality T-Drive discs. The Italian company also supplied the remote brake adjuster and clutch lever mounted on the motorcycle. The motorcycle will be supplied with Michelin racing tires fitted front and rear on the wheels Marchesini in seven-spoke aluminum.
