The 2021 Superbike will start its engines on January 20 in Jerez. Before the start of the world championship, further tests will take place in Portimão, Estoril and Catalunya.

The 2021 Superbike won't start until April 24-25 in Assen, Netherlands, which is considerably later than usual. But in just a few weeks, the top teams will already be on the track to continue the winter preparation which began in November in Jerez and Aragón.

The first meeting is set for January 20 and 21 at the Jerez circuit. For the new Kawasaki ZX-10RR Jonathan Rea et alex lowes, it will be the first direct confrontation with the entire Ducati team. In addition to the Aruba.it team with Scott Redding et Michael Rinaldi, Chaz Davies will also participate with Go Eleven's Panigale as well as newcomer Tito Rabat for the Barni team. Also on track is the Honda HRC with Álvaro bautista et Leon Haslam. The Yamaha team will be absent, having chosen to start later. After Jerez, we will move directly to March, with a very intense program that will include Portimão (March 4-5), Misano March 15-16, Estoril (Portugal) March 24-25 and finally Catalunya April 31-1 for the session organized by Dorna, in which all the teams will participate.

As a reminder, according to the new restrictions imposed by the regulations announced last week, each driver will not be able to carry out more than ten days of testing during the 2021 season. The pre-season phase will therefore include eight, with the Dorna tests being excluded from the count. In addition to the tests in preparation for the 8 hours of Suzuka (round of the world endurance championship), which will certainly see Jonathan Rhea et Alex Lowes involved, as well as very probably the two HRC officials, Alvaro Bautista et Leon Haslam.

During the Jerez test, Johann zarco will also be present and, for the restrictions specific to the MotoGP regulations, will ride a production Panigale V4S. It was also announced the participation of the Honda HRC MotoGP test team with Stefan bradl.
