Alex Lowes set the best time during the warm up, ahead of Scott Redding and Jonathan Rea. This last test gallop before the two races scheduled for this Sunday took place on a wet track, which could well reshuffle the cards in the hierarchy seen yesterday in Aragon.

The third and final day in Aragón opened this Sunday with the Superbike warm-up, which offered the riders a final opportunity to review their settings in preparation for the last two races which will take place today, namely the Superpole Race this morning and Race 2 in the afternoon.

15 minutes of driving to try to challenge the domination displayed yesterday by Jonathan Rhea, author of his 100th success in the championship of motorcycles derived from the series, at the end of a perfectly mastered Race 1. A session all the more important asunlike EL3 yesterday, the track conditions should be fairly representative, at least of those of the Superpole Race.

Rain comes to Aragón

The conditions speak for themselves, the Motorland Aragón circuit ultimately not having escaped the gloomy weather which has been hitting a good part of Europe for several days (weeks?) now. With only 11 degrees in the air and 17 on the ground, a low ceiling and a soggy tarmac, it is in a unique environment that the 23 competitors set out.

And who better than a Dutchman to feel like a fish in water in the gray and humidity? Michael van der Mark, who has had a bad weekend so far, stood out at the very start of the session by taking the lead, the times set initially being around twenty seconds slower than those seen in the dry. The Batavian shared the lead in the timesheet with the two Kawasaki riders, who took turns in first place, gradually bringing the reference time closer to the two-minute mark.

But in the end they are the two Ninja ofalex lowes and Rea who were the fastest, just separated by a very prominent Scott Redding in the wet. We then find Leon Haslam in fourth place, who finished ahead of Van der Mark and Jonas Folger.

Lower in the hierarchy, Tom Sykes finished the session in tenth place, just ahead Chaz Davies et Toprak Razgatlioglu, two men who will have to be counted on during the two upcoming races. The French, for their part, finished 15th (Lucas Mahias) and 23th (Christophe Ponsson) positions.

After the warm-up, it's now time for pure competition with the two events scheduled for today in Superbike, with the Superpole Race starting at 11 a.m. and Race 2 at 14 p.m. Will Rea manage to bag new victories? Answer imminent now.
