The Turkish rider won again at Most, while his opponent from Kawasaki increased his attacks, without success, before making another mistake which earned him second place for the benefit of Scott Redding.

After a first appetizer this morning during the warm up, the Superbike riders finally got to the heart of the matter at around 11 a.m. with the holding of the first event of the day, and more precisely the Race Superpole.

Introduced in 2019, the latter consists of a sprint lasting ten laps of the track, with only the first nine drivers scoring points according to an adapted scale (12 points for the winner, nine for the second, seven for the third, and so on until ninth place).

At the start, it was as usual Toprak Razgatlioglu who made the holeshot, negotiating the first corner in front of Jonathan Rea while behind him Scott Redding missed his takeoff while nevertheless regaining lost ground in the space of one lap .

At the front, Razgatlioglu and Rea battled throughout the race to gain first place, thus recalling scenes that we had already witnessed the day before between the two men. But this time, the battle was not over after a few rounds due to the fall of one of the two belligerents.

New prank for Rea

Rea, who had indeed fallen during the first race while trying to gain the upper hand over the Turk, this time remained clinging to his machine but without finding the fault. The Kawasaki rider even went straight into the first corner at the start of the eighth lap, losing a lot of ground only to be threatened by Redding back on his heels. The Ducati rider then applied constant pressure on the Northern Irishman to finally find the opening when braking the first corner of the very last lap.

Meanwhile, Razgatlioglu was able to race in the English style to sign his second success in as many races this weekend. The Yamaha rider thus had an almost perfect weekend, now only seven points behind Rea in the championship.

Razgatlioglu towards a hat-trick?

A gap which could be further reduced this afternoon during Race 2, while the hierarchy of the first three rows of the grid is precisely determined by the results of the Superpole Race. This simply means that Razgatlioglu will start Race 2 from first place, while his rival Rea will have to settle for third.

Behind the leading trio, we find Andrea Locatelli, very close to a third podium in a row in Superbike. Tom Sykes completes the top 5 ahead of Garrett Gerloff and Alex Lowes, while the top 10 is completed by Axel Bassani, Álvaro Bautista and Michael Ruben Rinaldi.

Further down in the ranking, we find Michael van der Mark at the gates of the top 10, while Christophe Ponsson, the only French representative this weekend in the Czech Republic, finished in 16th place.
