The championship leader was the most dashing at the end of the first day in Supersport 300, ahead of Tom Booth-Amos and Jeffrey Buis.

Like the Superbike and Supersport categories, the Supersport 300 began the second part of its season today, during the fifth round held in France, on the Magny-Cours track.

The category even got the ball rolling early in the morning, on a wet track which caused many problems for the drivers. Despite this, championship leader Adrian Huertas (MTM Kawasaki) set the best time in this difficult environment, before subsequently confirming it during FP2 in much more favorable conditions.

Huertas comfortable leader

The track was in fact completely dry in the afternoon, giving the field the possibility of progressing by more than ten seconds compared to the morning benchmarks. The fact remains that Huertas is perfectly dominating his subject for the moment, and ended the day with more than eight tenths ahead of his teammate and title holder Jeffrey Buis.

His closest rival in the championship, the Briton Tom Booth-Amos, finished the day in third position, at the end of a session cut short by the red flag following a mechanical problem on the Yamaha of the Portuguese Miguel Santiago Dutarte (Yamaha MS Racing). The best placed Frenchman at the end of this first day is Samuel di Sora, sixth in the ranking.

Nine points separate the two leading men in the championship, Huertas and Booth-Amos, a small delta between the two men which will give extra importance to all future rounds, and first of all to the one which is being held this weekend in Nièvre.
