The Swiss was the fastest in the warm up in the Supersport category. This bodes well for Race 2 which will take place at the start of the afternoon, where he will try to undermine the domination of Steven Odendaal, invincible so far this year.

After the Superbike riders, it was the turn of the Supersport riders to take to the track this Sunday morning to get their bearings for the race that awaits them this afternoon on the Estoril track.

In the category, the question is of course who will bring down Steven Odendaal, undefeated so far this season and holder of three consecutive successes. We of course do not yet know if the South African will achieve a fourth victory any time soon, but we already know that Dominique Aegerter, fifth at the end of Race 1 yesterday, and Federico Caricasulo, will not be there to count on the grid.

On the contrary, they should even give the championship leader a hard time, if we are to believe the results of the warm-up where the two men responded by tenths to acquire first place.

Cluzel ready to put Aragón frustration behind him

In the fight for victory we must not forget either Jules cluzel, author of a solid race on Saturday, with a podium finish. The Frenchman came very close to the laurels twice last week in Aragon: the first time he was deprived of them following a collision with Niki Tuuli, the second because of a penalty which caused him to start Race 2 from the back of the grid.

Circumstances which have undoubtedly strengthened the appetite of the Auvergne, determined to shine in Portugal. Proof of this is that the GMT94 driver finished the warm-up in second place, ahead of his teammate Caricasulo, thus positioning himself as a legitimate contender for victory later in the day.

But where has Odendaal gone? Rest assured, the South African pilot is also at the forefront, in sixth place precisely. He is ahead of a driver with whom he battled hard during Race 1: Philipp Ottl, who finished the session eighth ahead of Tuuli. The German will also aim for victory in Race 2.
