Supersport, Interview with Valentin Debise: What's next? (3/3)

Valentin Debise answered all our questions after his two victories in ZXMOTO at the Supersport World Championship in Portugal...

Qualified second in Superpole, Valentine Debise then secured both race victories, riding the ZXMOTO 820 RR in the second round of the World Supersport Championship, in Portimão, Portugal.

Even more than usual, we were therefore eager to gather the comments of the spearhead of the ZXMOTO manufacturer, which are always very interesting, whether for the general public or for technical enthusiasts.

So yes, it's a long process, but, like the videos he regularly postsalways very informative…

🎤 But I think that's not all…
Valentin Debise:
“So I don’t know if this is nonsense or what, but there is Quite a few people contacted me saying that the boss was having a statue made in my likeness to put in front of the factory. I haven't asked the guy from ZXMOTO yet if it was a joke or a surprise, but it's funny either way. But seriously, let's keep our feet on the ground: we had a great weekend in Portugal, now let's focus on Assen!

🎤 So it's true that these victories had a huge impact in China. It went far beyond the boundaries of sport and motorcycling, and many local media outlets, including some of the biggest ones, took them as a technological symbol.
We'll come back to all of this, and to the man behind it, but first there's Assen in 10 days. Until then, what is Valentin Debise doing?
"I've already started organizing my event for my partners for a month, so I'm going to continue. Plus physical preparation, sponsors, riding the motorcycle, the usual routine. I have two or three things I want to work on with the motorcycle, but nothing exceptional, really."

🎤 Regarding the motorcycle, are you expecting any changes? Are you still waiting for parts or is it finalized?
"No, no changes. Anyway, the truck isn't coming back to the workshop before then. So the motorcycle will be exactly the same. Like I said, for now, we're in a phase where we really want to get to know the motorcycle well before changing anything. So what What's important, you see, is to keep riding this bike and learning about it, rather than changing a bunch of parts and doing whatever. The team is working on it and is ready to continue development. For example, I think they could homologate linkages or things like that, because we still have the original linkages. But that's just one example.

🎤 You were talking about an event for your partners…
“Yes, it’s an event I do every year, so that my partners have a great time with me. At first, I also wanted to open it to the public, but it’s too complicated, or too expensive, due to insurance issues, etc.
The event is already quite expensive for me, and if I were to have other people come, even if they paid, the price would be far too high. So I prefer to keep it a private affair and ensure it remains a special event for my partners. This way, at least if someone wants to participate, they have to be a partner of Valentin, and at least it adds value for the partners who believe in my projects.
And for all the passionate fans who support me, I finance the filming of DebiseTVwhich allows you to see the weekend in pictures: don't hesitate to subscribe!
This year, the weekend video will be released the following Sunday.
They filmed us winning, and you can see the boss literally losing it (laughs). We've included it in the video, so if you want to see some great footage and have a good laugh, you can check out the channel.”

🎤 Thank you Valentin. We're eagerly awaiting Assen…
