The CIA Landlord Insurance Honda team, which saw among others Jules Cluzel and Robin Mulhauser in 2017 then Niki Tuuli in 20018, is pleased to announce that it has concluded an agreement with the Frenchman Jules Danilo who will see the former Moto2™ rider taking part in the 2019 FIM Supersport World Championship aboard the Honda CBR600RR.

At 23 years old, Danilo does not lack experience as he has already finished second twice in the French 125cc/Moto3 championship. In 2013, Danilo competed in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Championship and made his Moto3™ World Championship debut the same year at his home Grand Prix where he replaced an injured teammate. From 2014, he continued to compete in the category full-time, year after year, before moving to Moto2™ in 2018.

Jules Danilo : “I am very excited to join CIA Landlord Insurance Honda next year, one of the most iconic teams in the Supersport category. The team has been here for a long time and has always achieved good results, so I'm very excited to be involved in this project now. I am sure that with Simon, we share the same ambitions to fight at the front. It is also important for me, after a difficult season in Moto2™, to be able to bounce back and have such a good opportunity. I will train as hard as possible, the winter will be a little shorter than usual but I will make sure it is intense and arrive at PhiIip Island in great shape and as ready as possible. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a reality and I look forward to a great year together. »

Simon Buckmaster, Director of the CIA Landlord Insurance Honda Team: “We are very pleased to announce our first new signing for the CIA Landlord Insurance Honda Team for 2019. We wanted a rider who we believed had the ambition and desire to succeed as we do as a team to come and fight in the World Championship. This happened while I was having dinner in Thailand with James Nay who owns Devil Evolution Exhausts, and he mentioned Jules Danilo. We later learned that Jules is managed by Michael Bartholemy who led the MarcVDS team for many years winning the Moto2™ World Championship. I have known Michael for many years, and I value and respect his opinion, which has made me even more confident that Jules is a man who can get the job done for us. We will test in January and again on Philip's Island before the race. Stu, Andy and George have been working hard in the shop to make our bike even better and stronger than before, so we know we have the package and I believe we have signed a rider here who can mesh with us . This is good news and we will announce our second pilot soon. »
