The Yamaha rider once again set the best time of the session, and further asserts himself as a sure bet this weekend. He is ahead of Steven Odendaal and Dominique Aegerter.

It was in still ideal driving conditions that the second free practice session of the day in Supersport took place on the Misano track. The drivers thus benefited from three new quarters of an hour to continue their adaptation to the Italian circuit, which returns to the calendar this year after a year of absence due to Covid-19.

After having already achieved the best time at the end of FP1, Manuel González did it again this afternoon by clocking an excellent 1'38.473. The Spanish driver is ahead of championship leader Steven Odendaal and Dominique Aegerter, the latest winner in the category two weeks ago at Estoril.

Nice rise in the hierarchy for Tuuli

Niki Tuuli takes fourth place, after having made a big progress since the Finn had only finished FP1 outside the top 15. He is thus ahead of Roberto Mercandelli, the Italian who surprised all his world by evolving for a good part of the session in first place, before being dethroned. In the end, he is still ahead of the GMT94 drivers, Federico Caricasulo and Jules Cluzel.

Randy Krummenacher, last winner of the category on the Marco Simoncelli circuit, in 2019, finished in eighth position, ahead of Philipp Öttl and Filippo Fuligni. The latter, very prominent during the first free practice session, had a much messier second session, and marked by three falls.
