The World Championship Supersport arrived at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” for its 7th round of the season, and after a somewhat strange FP1, the Superpole put the favorites back in the spotlight…
This morning, the 40-minute FP1 session began in the usual way, with the pace set by the top contenders in the category, starting with Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing), Philipp Oettl (Feel Racing WorldSSP Team), Mattia Casadei (D34G WorldSSP Racing Team) Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory), Federico Caricasulo (EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory) and others Matteo Ferrari (WRP Racing).
Then Albert Arenas (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) took control with its Yamaha, then at 1'38.368, to gradually lower the reference to 1'37.434 after 10 minutes.
Things seemed to have stabilized there, with no one managing to dislodge the Spaniard for fifteen minutes, until
Philipp Oettl registers 1'37.390 on the handlebars of his Ducati V2.
Well, we thought then that the German rider was reaping the benefits of his participation in the two-day Superbike test at the end of May, but five minutes later, the Dane Simon Jespersen created a surprise by posting a time of 1'37.242 on his Ducati from the EAB Racing Team.
Two Ducatis, two Yamahas, two Ducatis, a Triumph, and three more Yamahas ahead of the ZXMOTOs, which had clearly been working together again, making for a fairly balanced field, all still quite far from the record of 1'36.498. Nicolo BulegaTherefore, we had to wait for the Superpole to get a clearer picture of the true hierarchy…

In the afternoon, the 30-minute qualifying Superpole was broken down into several parts.
The first one saw Philipp Oettl taking the lead after the first six minutes, by setting a time of 1'37.154 at the top of the table, already a better time than those of FP1.
Then we had to wait 12 minutes to see Can Oncu improving to 1'36.791, then 12 more minutes to note the improvement of the Turkish driver, this time to 1'36.755 ahead Albert Arenas, Matteo Ferrari (WRP Racing) Philipp Oettl et Alessandro Zaccone (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team).
With four minutes to go, some still had time to improve, like... Valentine Debise temporarily seizing 2nd position before conceding it to Albert Arenas, but the spectacular fall ofHector Garzo (Renzi Corse) at turn #13 (Ducati split in two after a very high and very long flight) stopped the session with red flags two minutes later, the counter set at 2'46.
At the restart, with only one quick lap possible, the front row remained unchanged.
With his third pole position of the season, Can Oncu He thus gets a great revenge for his difficult race in Aragon, largely due to his back-of-the-grid penalty in Race 1. On Friday in Misano, the No. 61 rider climbed to pole position with a time of 1'36.755. His effort allows him to pull away and start his Italian weekend on a dream note.

Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing): “
I am very happy today, because after the Aragón round, to be honest, it was a bit difficult.
I'm expecting a great race, because Debise and his bike are working very well and he's much stronger than last year. Arenas is also doing a great job, so I'm expecting a big battle.
Albert Arenas continues to control the situation…

Valentine Debise is back on the front row for the third consecutive round and hopes to do better than his two 8th place finishes at Motorland Aragon.

James Masia, second in the championship between Albert Arenas et Valentine Debiseappeared slightly behind but remains less than half a second behind the fastest…
