With only five races remaining in the Supersport World Championship, the situation was tight for the four leaders: Sandro Cortese led with 122 points ahead of Jules Cluzel (120), Randy Krummenacher (105) and Lucas Mahias (103). . But it was in Misano the local Federico Caricasulo, teammate of Mahias, who took pole position ahead of Cluzel and Krummenacher. Raffaele de Rosa completed the second line with Cortese and Mahias. 34 drivers set off at the start, including Jules Cluzel who dived into the lead in the first corner, followed by Federico Caricasulo, Raffaele de Rosa, Lucas Mahias, Hikari Okubo and Randy Krummenacher. Cluzel retained first position, but closely squeezed by the two Italians Caricasulo and de Rosa, who preceded Lucas Mahias. While Mahias was fighting with de Rosa for third place, the reigning French World Champion fell without gravity while accelerating outside the line, therefore on a less clean part of the track.

Cluzel continued his fight against Caricasulo and de Rosa. Caricasulo took the lead, imitated by de Rosa who took second position from Cluzel. Sandro Cortese moved up to fourth place, ahead of Valtulini and Krummenacher.

Cortese overtook Cluzel for third position. Cortese then had a 5-point lead over Cluzel in the provisional World Championship standings. Corentin Perolari (GMT 94) who started twentieth, was in twelfth place.
Caricasulo opened up a gap of 0.7 over de Rosa, 1.7 over Cortese, 2.8 over Cluzel, and 4.6 over Valtulini and Krummenacher.

Valtulini, then fifth, fell without seriousness. At halfway, Caricasulo was ahead of Rosa by 1.2, Cortese by 1.7, Cluzel by 4.0 and Krummenacher by 6.9. The Belgian Loris Cresson fell without seriousness.
Caricasulo, de Rosa and Cortese rode grouped in 1.5 for the three places on the podium, while Jules Cluzel was alone in fourth position, 4.9 behind the leader. Krummenacher was fifth at 9 seconds, ahead of Anthony West and Kyle Smith at 12. Corentin Perolari was twelfth in a group of eight drivers, 22 seconds behind.

At the end of the race, Caricasulo increased his lead over de Rosa to 1.4, while Cortese was 1.9. Jules Cluzel, 6 seconds behind, secured fourth position, ahead of Krummenacher at 12.5. Perolari held on to his twelfth place.
Caricasulo won his third World Supersport victory, ahead of Rosa, Cortese, Cluzel and Krummenacher. Perolari scored the points for twelfth place.
