The Spanish driver set the best time at the end of the Superpole in the Supersport category, ahead of championship leader Dominique Aegerter and Philipp Oettl. Steven Odendaal, for his part, failed to do better than seventh.

Hostilities reached a new milestone on the Most circuit, in the Czech Republic, with the holding of the very first Superpole of the weekend in the Supersport category. The big favorite for this first qualifying session was of course Dominique Aegerter, more than ever in a strong position in the championship where he is 44 points ahead of his rival Steven Odendaal.

In this regard, the Swiss held his place yesterday by completing the first day in the Czech Republic with the best time, thus launching his weekend perfectly. The Swiss therefore set off again in the hunt for time in the middle of the morning, while the sun finally seemed to have settled in the sky of Central Europe, offering the competitors ideal driving conditions.

The first part of the session was finally dominated by Philipp Oettl, third in the championship and whose performances increased race after race. The German driver thus remained at the top of the timesheet until Aegerter came out of the woods mid-session.

Superpole has long seemed promised to the championship leader, but that was without counting on Manuel Gonzalez, already the author of the best time during FP1 yesterday, who finally set the best time during his very last flying lap.

Debise impresses

Several falls punctuated the session, showing that the Most route still remains very tricky for the drivers entered. The Frenchman Valentin Debise thus made a mistake, just like Federico Caricasulo. The two men nevertheless had the opportunity to take the handlebars again and continue the rest of the session.

Despite his fall, Debise, who took over from Caricasulo in GMT94, made a strong impression during this Superpole. The Frenchman thus remained in the leading group until the checkered flag, ultimately taking sixth place, which will give him a good launching pad for Race 1 scheduled for this afternoon. .

Aegerter and Oettl will accompany Gonzalez on the grid, with Jules Cluzel taking the second row in fourth position. Luca Bernardi, for his part, slotted himself between the two French GMT94 drivers in fifth place.

We then have to go down to seventh place to find Odendaal, who will once again be in a bad position trying to catch up with Aegerter. Niki Tuuli and Can Öncü complete the third row of the grid ahead of Patrick Hobersberger, tenth. Federico Caricasulo will start the race from 12th place on the grid. Finally, we will note the poor performance of Randy Krummenacher, only 18th, partly linked to his fall at the very end of the session.
