The two teammates Federico Caricasulo and Randy Krummenacher (Bardahl Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team) shared the first row of the starting grid with Lucas Mahias (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing), while on the second we found Isaac Viñales (Kallio Racing), Raffaele De Rosa (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) and Ayrton Badovini (Team Pedercini Racing).

Jules Cluzel (GMT94 Yamaha) was in third, alongside Jules Danilo (CIA Landlord Insurance Honda), Corentin Perolari (GMT94 Yamaha) in fifth and Gaëtan Matern in ninth. Kyle Smith, who had exhausted his annual engine quota, started twenty-seventh from the pit lane exit, after all the competitors had passed.

When for his warm up, the best time was achieved by Randy Krummenacher ahead of Jules Cluzel, Isaac Viñales and Federico Caricasulo. Lucas Mahias ranked seventh, Corentin Perolari eighth and Jules Danilo fourteenth.

At the beginning, with 28° for the air temperature and 40° for that of the asphalt, the fastest to set off was Federico Caricasulo ahead of Isaac Viñales, Lucas Mahias, Jules Cluzel, Randy Krummenacher and Corentin Perolari who started from thirteenth position on the grid!

A group of five formed at the front with Federico Caricasulo, Isaac Viñales, Lucas Mahias, Jules Cluzel and Randy Krummenacher. Perolari sixth was overtaken by Raffaele de Rosa and his official MV Agusta. Jules Danilo was twelfth.

Federico Caricasulo could not outrun Isaac Viñales who threatened him, just ahead of Lucas Mahias, Jules Cluzel and Randy Krummenacher. De Rosa and Perolari were at 1.1, and Danilo at 3.6.

Kyle Smith fell without gravity with Stange. Lucas Mahias overtook Isaac Viñales to take second position. Lucas won here last year and Jules Cluzel in 2015. Viñales suddenly lost a lot of ground and found himself sixth, ahead of Badovini, Okubo and Perolari now ninth. Then Isaac Viñales stopped at his Kallio Racing stand with a technical problem.

13 laps from the checkered flag, Caricasulo was ahead of Mahias and Krummenacher, while Cluzel fourth led de Rosa. Krummenacher took second place to the detriment of Mahias. Maria Herrera fell without gravity.

Caricasulo, Krummenacher, Mahias and Cluzel were grouped in the lead in 0.6, with de Rosa very close. On the other hand, Badovini sixth was at 3.3, Perolari eighth at 4.8 and Danilo tenth at 6.6.

At mid-race, Krummenacher took the lead from his teammate Caricasulo, ahead of Mahias, Cluzel and de Rosa. On the next lap, de Rosa moved to fourth to the detriment of Jules Cluzel.

Krummenacher, Caricasulo, Mahias and de Rosa were fighting for the podium, while Cluzel lost a little ground at 1.5 and was even worried by Badovini. De Rosa made a small mistake and lost time on Krummenacher, Caricasulo and Mahias, finding himself just ahead of Cluzel and Badovini. De Rosa retired, leaving Cluzel at 2.5 to fight with Badovini for fourth place.

With 5 laps to go, Caricasulo took the lead ahead of Krummenacher, Mahias and Cluzel, when the race was stopped at the red flag due to fluid lost on the track by the MV Agusta of Raffaele de Rosa.

The race did not restart and Caricasulo was declared the winner ahead of Krummenacher, Mahias and Cluzel. Perolari finished sixth, Danilo eighth and Matern twenty-first.
