A thunderbolt struck from a clear sky during the Supersport round at Portimão: QJMotor remained in the pits because the motorcycle was not homologated!

The Chinese brand arrived in Portimão confident it could compete. Videos on Instagram, photos, and a Facebook post indicated: "The wait is over and QJ Motor Factory Racing is preparing to return to the track this weekend at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal, for the WorldSSP races. Throughout the winter, the team's technical staff never stopped working on the development of the new SRK 800 RS, which made its debut at the end of last season and immediately proved very competitive."

On Friday morning, the FIM press release was issued:
"The QJMOTOR SRK 800 RS has had its homologation suspended due to non-compliance with FIM regulations."
Did QJ Motor really find out at the last minute? It seems so; something must have gone wrong.
Raffaele De Rosa, now a key player for the team, appeared very calm on the eve of the weekend, as did his new teammate Marcos RamirezNothing foreshadowed such a sudden halt.
But what happened?
To pass the second phase of homologation, the Chinese company QJ Motor had to produce 250 products of the SRK 800 RS, an improved motorcycle compared to the previous version already homologated in 2024.
Due to problems external to the company, related to suppliers, some components needed to assemble the motorcycles were not delivered in time for the first race.
Currently, at QJ Motor, they are working intensively to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
The QJ Motor season will probably begin at Assen, during the weekend of 17 to 19 April.
