Mahias magnificently won the first Superpole 2 of the year on the grandiose Australian circuit, ahead of his teammate Federico Caricasulo and Kenan Sofuoglu.

In the first run, Federico Caricasulo took the lead in 1'33.795, 0.017 ahead of Sandro Cortese, 0.129 over Kenan Sofuoglu, and 0.139 over Lucas Mahias. Jules Cluzel was then eighth at 0.538.
In the final minutes, Kenan Sofuoglu took the best time in 1'33.540, then Lucas Mahias was ahead of him in 1'33.160, before going out slightly onto the grass.

Jules Cluzel, ahead of the first intermediate, made a small, untimely slide in the Siberia corner, lost time and had to settle for ninth place. Mike di Meglio was sixteenth.
According to Lucas Mahias, “ It was very difficult because there was a lot of wind, in a different direction from before. I saved three or four falls, which is not my habit. I'm very happy with this pole because it's a good start to the season, and my teammate Federico Caricasulo is second. »
