Florian achieved a great feat at Assen, made complicated by the interruption of the qualifying session just seven minutes from the end at the red flag due to the fall of Michael Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Junior Team). Winner of the inaugural race at MotorLand Aragón, the Italian could not restart and had to settle for seventh position.
It was a nice revenge for Marino, injured last year on the Dutch circuit, and who this Saturday in 1'36.775 improved the absolute record established in this category by Lorenzo Savadori in 2015. The fight for first position was superb with Rinaldi taking command in 1'38.088, before Marino dispossessed him in 1'37'724. Marco Faccani (Althea BMW Racing) responded in 1'37.262, before Florian posted a real festival in 1'37.174, 1'37.103 and finally 1'36.775.
Florian Marino will start from first position with his Yamaha R1, in front Toprak Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) and his teammate Robert Tamburini (Pata Yamaha Official STK1000 Team).
Dutch Danny DeBoer (BMW Van Zon Remeha) will lead the second row in front Marco Faccani (Althea BMW Racing) and the official Ducati Mike Jones (Aruba.it Racing – Junior Team). The three KawasakisIllia Mykhalchyk (TripleM Racing), from the Dutch Wayne Tessels (Agro On-Benjan-Kawasaki) and French Jeremy Guarnoni (Pedercini Racing) will start from the fourth row.
