So that Dorna can concentrate on the production and production of Grand Prix images, the Spanish organizer of the World Championship has signed an agreement for the distribution of these with one of the subsidiaries of the Indian giant Tata.

This is at Tata Communications that Manel Arroyo (the man responsible for the media coverage of the GPs) has entrusted the global distribution of what is called the “signal”, that is to say the finalized and finished images, ready to be consumed. It is perhaps useful to clarify that this is not a question of commercial rights, but only of the technical delivery of the final image.

Tata Communications is a global company with its roots in emerging markets. Headquartered in Mumbai and Singapore, it has more than 8 employees across 500 countries. The company ($38 billion in revenue in 3,2) is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India. It is the telecoms subsidiary of Tata group ($103,3 billion in turnover in 2016)

Tata Communications and Dorna will collaborate on several innovation projects involving technologies such as low-latency Ultra-High Definition (UHD), 360º video streaming and live OTT, as well as remote production and High-Dynamic Range (HDR) enabled by the Tata Communications media ecosystem. This ecosystem, including the Video Connect service, combines traditional video contribution services and IP connectivity into a comprehensive cloud-based platform. It will allow Dorna to manage and distribute WorldSBK and MotoGP video streams from any location to any device in perfect synchronization. By eliminating the lag associated with OTT content delivery, the Tata Communications media ecosystem ensures a real, interactive racing experience for fans, whether they are watching the action from their television or mobile device.

« This partnership with Tata Communications represents a new and exciting step in how we manage the distribution of each race to our broadcast partners around the world, said Manel Arroyo, Managing Director of Dorna Sports, TV and Media. We will use the company's global media, connectivity and cloud capabilities to bring together the different parts of our broadcast operations. This, coupled with Tata Communications' experience in the world of motorsport, will strengthen our ability to provide WorldSBK and MotoGP fans with an exhilarating experience that matches what they are looking for. »
