Jorge Martin fell heavily during FP3 of the Portuguese Grand Prix last weekend: really shaken, he had to wait until this Wednesday to go under the knife and will have to recover from seven fractures... Alpinestars released data relating to the incident involving Ducati rider Pramac.

The airbag integrated into the suit is undoubtedly one of the most effective inventions to protect pilots during falls. On the graph provided by Alpinestars, which equips Jorge Martin, we note that the crash which occurred at turn 7 at Portimao lasted approximately 5.2 seconds.

The Ducati Pramac rider fell from a height in the Algarve, he suffered 4 significant impacts reaching forces of 25G, 2 of these impacts showing forces of 26G. The airbag remained fully deployed throughout, helping to limit injuries.

Thanks to doctors Mir, Jimeno, Campillo, Monllau and their teams, the 3 operations went well. We just wish him a speedy recovery, hoping to see him back on track at Mugello at the end of May!
