Before the Grand Prix in Misano where we will go to see the famous new “Misano 200” vibrators, let's take advantage of the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix to get out of the paddock and go for a lap of the track to see up close the famous track departure detection sensors.

Hey, hello!

We have already explained in detail the operation of the current system in an article (see here) and this weekend it was just a matter of seeing where and how these famous waterproof hoses connected to a pressure sensor are placed about 10 centimeters inside the vibrator on the unauthorized green part.

Yes, they are there! Not easy to see from a distance, because they are painted with the same paint as the green zone, and not always equidistant from the authorized part, but they are there. And not everywhere either: generally, they are found outside the bends, at the exit of the latter, where the new Misano 200 curbs will be installed to replace them. Some examples…

As empirical as the system is, it is clever and it seems difficult to place a wheel on the green without it being detected. Afterwards, if the pressure sensors do not work or if the bend is not equipped with these hoses, the window is open to controversies...

And in the very fast last corner, very conducive to going off the track in Barcelona? They are there too, not very straight but ready to detect any overflow!

We continue to think that it is a clever system for signaling off-track departures, but the human processing of the information mobilizes too many resources and all this will be advantageously supplemented by the Misano 200 vibrators.
