The Sachsenring circuit hosts the 9th round of the 2016 world championship. Inaugurated in 1927, its current name dates from 1937. It has been an integral part of the world championship since 1998 but previously hosted the East German Grand Prix between 1958 and 1972.
The first victory for a motorcycle equipped with Brembo, which today equips 100% of the field, dates back to 1978, in Germany, but at the Nurburgring (Virginio Ferrari on Suzuki).

The Sachsenring is the shortest circuit in the championship and its very winding layout does not put a strain on the brake system. Braking at the end of the straight is the only one that exceeds 4 seconds and, in total, the drivers will not brake for more than 10 minutes during the race.

Paradoxically, the main difficulty comes from the close succession of curves which can prevent excellent cooling of the brakes.

We can bet that the current temperatures prevailing in Germany will help them in this…
