During the tests in Misano, Scott Redding tested new technology on his Ducati Aruba.it in terms of calipers and front brake discs, taken from MotoGP. The first returns from the British driver seem promising.

While Brembo brought new ventilated brake discs to Qatar for MotoGP, which should help ensure consistent braking performance on brake-intensive circuits such as the Red Bull Ring, it appears that the Italians have also developed new equipment for Superbike machines. Indeed, in Misano, Scott Redding tested a new brake caliper whose design is reminiscent of the GP4, used in MotoGP since last year.

Scott Redding looks back on this new equipment that he was able to benefit from on his factory Ducati: “We had a few calipers to improve performance in the face of higher temperatures. But it's not 35°C to feel the difference, so performance was similar, which is always a good thing. We just need to see how they perform in warmer conditions, but first it's just about having a good shakedown and that's what we did today. »

“The good thing about WorldSBK now is that it’s quite close to MotoGP. Some things are happening, which for me is a good thing, because I gained some experience there a few years ago. I wouldn't say it helps me, but I already have a feeling for some of these things, and I'm happy with it. »

“This is the first time Scott has evaluated this caliper”, said Brembo technician, Franco Zonnedda. “The conditions were good on the first day, and he tested the new stirrup with wings. These are obviously not the best conditions, since they will be more difficult in Barcelona, but we are all very satisfied. Scott finished the session with this caliper and he was happy, as were the new discs. These calipers come from a MotoGP version, but this version is specific to WorldSBK. We are confident that the system will work well and we will be able to deliver more performance with this system. »
