Hervé Poncharal: “So, I don't know about it, but some journalists thought they saw, on the Japanese Yamaha test, somewhat sophisticated fairings with aerodynamic elements inside. From the side of the track, where I spent a lot of time, I saw nothing, and afterwards, I had a lot of meetings.”

But that’s a scoop!

“I don’t know, I didn’t see anything. I’m sorry but I can’t contribute anything to your “Spy Attitude” series (laughs).”

Since that moment which concluded our first interview with Hervé Poncharal at Sepang, we kept looking for a photo of this mysterious Yamaha and it's at the friend's Giorgio Mulliri that we found it. Its origin is uncertain since it cites a report from a certain Alex Arletti.

Technically, we can clearly see that Yamaha had the same reading of the regulations that we had at the beginning of December, and created internal fins. The air therefore enters inside the fairing, which has been widened for the occasion, and exits through numerous shark gills at the exit of the fairing.

We don't know if this solution will be adopted, but at Paddock-GP, we love this kind of technological research!

Hats off Yamaha!
