Until now, Fabio Quartararo's only experience of the 600cc was limited to a ride on the Ales circuit organized by the FFM (See here exclusively).

Since this week, and the first tests at Jerez, the ex-Leopard rider knows what a Moto2 is… and he likes it!

Thirteenth on the first day, two seconds behind, the French driver made notable progress during the second day to close it twelfth just one second behind the best time.

Of course, we know that it is the last tenths that are the most difficult to find, but when we compare the experience of the young Nice native to that of Takaaki Nakagami, the author of the best time, we can think that we do not have finished hearing about the pilot coached by Randy de Puniet…

fabio quartararo : “I am very happy with this first contact. Little by little, I'm starting to understand the bike. At the end, I controlled the exit of the corners more and more and I had a lot of fun. Now I can’t wait to get back on my Kalex next week”

Site Pons: “I am very happy with this project. Fabio made a very good start, regular and consistent in his times, improving each time he took to the track. I think we are preparing for a very exciting season that will bring us a lot of success. »

As a reminder, Sito Pons detailed his approach to 2017, with his talented rider but without Moto2 experience (See here).
