Despite the beautiful sun which lit up the Jerez circuit this morning, the air remained cold (maximum 15°) while the track had patches of humidity until midday.

The Superbikes, most of which have been racing on the Andalusian circuit on a wet track since Monday, therefore took the opportunity to take the advantage before things accelerated around 14 p.m.

It was without counting on a Jonathan Rhea particularly comfortable on the southernmost track in Spain, and he only wanted to Hector Barbera and its D16 to miss seeing the MotoGP bow down to their less exclusive sisters…

As a reminder, pole position for the Jerez Grand Prix was achieved in 1'38.736 by Valentino Rossi this year while in Superbike, Tom Sykes clocked a time of 1'39.190 in October and the circuit record belongs to Jorge Lorenzo since 2015 in 1'37.910.
