Next week, from February 19 to 21, the official tests of the Moto2 and Moto3 categories will take place at the Jerez–Ángel Nieto circuit, scheduled by Dorna Sport, the organizer of the World Championship.

As a preamble to this official test, Monday 10 and Tuesday 11, several teams from the Moto2 and Moto3 world championships privately rented the Jerez facilities to continue the pre-season tests that they were unable to carry out in last November due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The conditions were excellent for this run involving 8 Moto2 teams and 8 Moto3 teams.

En Moto2, the teams EG 0,0 Marc VDS, Idemitsu Honda Team Asia, Red Bull KTM Ajo, Petronas Sprinta Racing, Sky Racing Team VR46 and Federal Oil Gresini Moto2, all on Kalex, as well as the Speed Up Racing and Aspar Team, on Speed Up, were able to take advantage of the Andalusian track, both to warm up their drivers and to debug their machines.

After one domination of Jorge Martín on his “KTM–Kalex” on the first day, in 1'41.841, it is Marco Bezzecchi (Sky Racing Team VR46) who won second, in 1'41.410, only 3 tenths slower than the pole position of Jorge Navarro in 2019 (1).

George Martin could not defend his leadership, the Madrid Red Bull KTM rider Ajo destroying his Kalex on the 4th lap: foot pain for the rider and a machine temporarily destroyed.

Xavi Verge (Petronas Sprinta Racing) and Aron Canet (Aspar team) were decided by hundredths while Jorge Navarro (Speed Up Racing) and Nicholas Bulega (Sky Racing Team VR46) completed the Top 5.

Andi Farid Izdihar, debuting in the World Championship under the colors of Idemitsu Honda Team Asia, was once again the most diligent, with 93 laps completed on the first day and 95 on the second!

En Moto3, the Idemitsu Honda Team Asia, Kömmerling Gresini Moto3, Petronas Sprinta Racing and Estrella Galicia 0,0 teams, all equipped with Hondas, rubbed shoulders with the KTMs of the KTM Red Bull Ajo, Cip–Green Power, Sky Racing Team VR46 and Aspar Team teams.

At the end of the second day, we also noticed an improvement in the times, starting with that of gabriel rodrigo (Kömmerling Gresini Moto3), third on the first day and leader on the second, in 1'45.662, a time faster than the circuit record he held in 1'45.745 since 2019!

Behind him, Ai Ogura (Honda Team Asia) maintains its second position, although slower than the day before.

John mcphee (Petronas Sprinta Racing), Albert Arenas (Aspar Team) and Sergio Garcia (Estrella Galicia 0,0), the leader from the day before, complete a Top 5 to which they already belonged on the first day.

The two teammates of the Estrella Galicia team 0,0, Ryusei Yamanaka and Sergio Garcia, were once again the most diligent on the track.

Official tests will take place from Wednesday February 19 to Friday February 21 but some teams have already decided to riding privately in Jerez the previous days.
