Bautista and his Team Aspar teammate Karel Abraham took part in two days of testing on the Montmelo track, with a very good third time for the Spaniard behind his compatriots Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo.
Alvaro completed a total of 138 laps on his Ducati GP16, 70 on Tuesday and 68 on Wednesday. He also completed a 12-lap partial race simulation. His best time was 1'44.258.
According to Álvaro Bautista, “ We tried some things with the setup to try to improve my confidence, especially entering corners and turning the bike mid-corner.
“We couldn't find anything that could help us, so we decided to go back to the basic configuration. After that, we ran a race simulation to see how the tires worked with many laps.
“It's a very tough track for tire wear, and during the last laps we had some grip problems, but that's normal.
“We did a lot of testing, and it was a positive test from which we drew good conclusions that can help us in the future. »
