At the end of a day of Moto2 testing which saw Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) injured after suffering a violent fall in turn 10 of the Ricardo Tormo circuit, it was once again Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) who stands at the top of the time sheet.

The gap of one second widened by Takaaki Nakagami on his pursuers could nevertheless call out, since, with a time of 1'34.761, this is faster than Johann Zarco's pole during the Grand Prix, and can be compared with the 1'35.365 achieved by the Japanese driver in qualifying. It will be recalled that, for these private tests, the motorcycles are free and uncontrolled, and that everyone is entitled to use the engine and electronics they wish, but that, often, the air is sufficiently fresh and the hot track to be able to achieve performances not repeated in the season. Furthermore, most of the big names in the category aren’t there yet…

The reigning Moto3 world champion had to leave the circuit to be examined by Doctor Mir, his KTM having fallen on his arm, which could have broken his hand.

A misfortune that was not known Xavi Virginie (Tech3 Racing) who was able to place his Mistral Tech3 in 2nd place in the times, just in front of a Francesco Bagnaia (Sky VR46) whose rapid adaptation to Moto2 never ceases to amaze, just like that of Fabio Quartararo (Paginas Amarillas HP 40), 6th of this day of testing.

Jorge Navarro (Federal Oil Gresini) dislocated his shoulder in a fall at turn 8.

In Moto3, the gaps are logically much tighter and it is Enea Bastianini (Estrella Galicia 0,0) which turned out to be the fastest, just ahead Bo Bendsneyder, Niccolo Antonelli, the winner of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookie Cup Ayumu Sasaki et Romano fenati.

The tests continue tomorrow and can be followed in Live Timing...
