After three years spent on a Honda in MotoGP, Jack Miller is gradually getting used to the Ducati GP17 which he discovers within the Pramac team. With team leader Christian Pupulin, the Australian set a time of 2'00.178 on the first day at Sepang.

Ranked fifth, he repeated this ranking the next day, while improving his time to 1'59.509. He finally retained fifth place at the end of the third day in 1'59.346.

For Pupulin, it was “a very positive outcome. We were able to achieve the objectives we had set for ourselves, particularly in terms of driving style. We can still improve because we suffered a little in the last laps of the long run with worn tires. »

Most

“What I liked most about these tests is that Jack always goes 100%. This is important because it also allows us to use the lap time to evaluate what changes need to be made to the bike. Jack always gives the best of himself, without fear and always enters the track very focused. »

The lessers

“As I said before, we still have to work a little on the race distance because the rear tire is wearing a little too much. We still have to find something but we have taken a good step forward. Honestly, we're not ready to be competitive all the way to the checkered flag yet, but we still have plenty of time. »

Buriram objective

“I have high hopes because a talented driver like Jack tends to be fast on unfamiliar tracks. He might have something more than others and his natural talent might allow him to understand a new avenue with less difficulty. And then the Ducati, thanks to its electronics, is a motorcycle that always gives something more in these conditions. »
