Thailand Grand Prix Buriram Moto3 FP1: Andrea Migno on the KTM takes the lead

While some go to bed, others get up and others find themselves still in the arms of Morpheus, the microcosm of MotoGP has an appointment not with the moon but with the fifteenth round of the world championship who has taken up residence in Thailand. It is the Buriram track which will therefore initially see the Moto3 category which will rev up its machines in preparation for this first free practice session. The forces present are Lorenzo Dalla Porta, leader of the championship, Arón Canet, the colt of Max Biaggi and Tony Arbolino, all three in the running to win the Holy Grail this season. Let's not forget the enthusiasm of John McPhee who is 4th in the championship and who will, as usual, want to play spoilsport. 

Have your coffee and croissants...the wild animals will be released for 40 minutes.

The sun is out at the start of the session. It's 29,4 degrees in the air and 35,9 degrees on the track.

A little nod from the Petronas team to its driver Sasaki who is celebrating his 19th birthday today . We join his team in wishing him a happy birthday and a great FP1 session.

He is also the first driver to take to the track, eager to do battle!

 

It was Arbolino who set the reference time in 1.46.071s before Canet et Dalla Porta. Arenas et Fernandez closed the top5.

As the minutes pass, lap times drop, everyone making their mark. However, it is Arbolino who stands up to his opponents with a time of 1.43.879s. Migno on the KTM is second best time with a time of 1.43.961. Dallas Port is third with a lap time of 1.44.051s. Canet, the third in the championship is ninth in 1.44.634s.

Max Biaggi's pilot, Canet made a small exit without consequence but he continued his effort and came to position himself in fourth position, achieving a good lap in 1.44.174s.

Foggia comes in fifth with a lap time of 1.44.301s. 5 minutes from the end of the session, Cornfeel took third place with a lap time of 1.43.940s.

Arenas takes the best time with a time of 1.43.632s. Salac is now second in 1.43.670s and Ogura in 1.43.676s.

But it's Migno who wins the bet with a time of 1.42.789s ahead Arbolino et Suzuki. Ogura is fourth, López, fifth.
