This is undoubtedly the feeling of this first of the three days of testing that MotoGP is currently offering on a track of Buriram which will be that of the Thai Grand Prix. A discovery smoothly led by Alex Rins, Suzuki official, who only missed the best performance with his GRX-RR by twelve thousandths against Crutchlow's Honda. The Spaniard thus pushes his media teammate Andrea Iannone a little further into the shadows…

A year ago, alex rins was struggling to recover from injuries sustained during the first few laps on his MotoGP Suzuki. This time, life is different and after having been convincing during the return to Malaysia, he is almost leader of the field in Thailand. But the Spaniard keeps his feet on the ground by commenting on his performance: “ I did not expect that ! I was only focused on learning the circuit. My goal was to understand the track and find the best lines with the right settings for the bike. Tomorrow, Saturday, we will test new pieces ».

« I have already been third in a warm-up and that is of course a good feeling. Over the next two days, the times will evolve, everyone will improve, so it may not last! But I have to say that, for the moment, our pace is good. And that's what's important ».

alex rins completed 70 laps, the best of which was in 1'30.809. Andrea Iannone did eight more with a time of 1'31.235 as the fastest performance.
