The first day started well for Andrea when, behind Cal Crutchlow and Alex Rins, he then finished just (0.033) behind Marc Marquez, which was reminiscent of last year's World Championship. On the other hand, the gap widened on the second day, with Marquez leading and Dovi ninth at 0.525.

In terms of times, the situation also evolved in favor of the Spaniard who went from 1'30.912 to 1'29.969, while the Italian progressed from 1'30.945 to 1'30.494. The Honda rider gained a full second, and the man on the Ducati half. The citizen of Forlimpopoli thinks that the problems come from the cycle part and the fairings.

According to Andrea Dovizioso, who are " The new chassis is very similar to the old one. On Sunday we will go further, then even further to Qatar. We will compare the different chassis on different tracks. The positive side is that everything works, everything we've tried. It is also good that we have more material available than in the past. On the other hand, we don't know what we should use.

“Regarding the fairings, it depends a lot on the track. We do a lot of comparisons to understand what is happening. My fastest lap today was with the fins, but it's not necessarily the best device for the whole year. Our fairing with fins helps in braking and acceleration, as it gives us better performance on the ground and prevents the bike from pitching up too much.

“Depending on the track, the fairing can have a massive impact, we haven't decided yet. Each comparison implies that you have to analyze everything exactly and then decide. It's difficult. We are fast with every chassis and fairing. We need to be clear about which solution is best. We will have to do it in Qatar. But that's not the best way to judge a chassis and fairing.

“We see a lot of different fairings because no team has enough experience to make a decision. Driving styles are also very different. It's almost impossible to explain to someone who has never ridden a motorcycle with fins how it affects.

“Lorenzo drove with wings in every race in 2017 because it suits his style. It doesn't use the front brake on corner entry, so it has no weight on the front wheel. The fairing does it for him.

“The test here is getting weird because Michelin didn't know which tires to bring. One of the tires brought is too soft for the distance of the race, but it is the one we have in the greatest number. So lap times are not reality. Michelin also has a harder tire than the one used in Austria. The lap times with it are slower, but for the October race I see this tire in the favorite position. Few pilots have tried it and even fewer have been fast with it. Márquez was very fast, but as always during a test, it is difficult to tell where you really stand. »
