At the end of this second day of MotoGP testing in Buriram, we have drawn up the following table for you.

It presents the Top 10 drivers, their best time, their best sectors and their Ideal Time, that is to say the ideal time that they could have achieved by adding up all their best sectors.

This is not uninteresting because we see that Marc Marquez really creates the difference in Sector 4, the last part of the circuit including turn #12, the only one that happens in first gear: this visibly remains an advantage for the Hondas since only the bikes of Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa and Cal Crutchlow there drop below 23 seconds!

Sector 1, which includes two long straights, creates a surprise because the Ducatis were expected there. But it is in the end Maverick Vinales who wins there, ahead of Jack Miller and Andrea Dovizioso: clearly, the new engine of the official Yamahas is rocking!

Sector 2 is also to be credited to Marc Marquez while 3, more sinuous, is very suitable for Jack Miller but is fatal to Jorge Lorenzo, while both riders ride Ducatis. What we also see on this table is that the Mallorcan's Ideal Time corresponds exactly to his time, meaning that he achieved all his best sectors during the same lap. He's the only driver in the Top 10 to do this, and it means his other laps were much slower. In fact, it was his only lap in the 1'30...

If each driver had put his best sectors end to end, the ranking would have appeared as follows:

Marc Marquez
Jack Miller
Johann zarco
Dani Pedrosa
Cal Crutchlow
Maverick Vinales
Andrea Dovizioso
Danilo Petrucci
alex rins
Jorge Lorenzo

Tomorrow is another day…
