After riding the GP17 for two days during the private tests that Ducati conducted on the Malaysian circuit, then staying for a day during the official tests on the same circuit to collect the impressions of Jorge Lorenzo et Andrea Dovizioso on the GP18, the Australian driver decided to undergo shoulder surgery to treat an old bone injury.
Although no official information has been released on this subject, it was a priori scheduled for last week and was supposed to require a convalescence of at least 4 months.
According to Paolo ciabatti who revealed the information to the Malaysian press, Ducati simply hopes that the double world champion will be able to ride for World Ducati Week which will take place from July 20 to 22, 2018 in Misano.
