Organizing the transfer of the world Grand Prix between the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, in Argentina, and that of Austin, Texas, is a high-precision operation, especially when the events are only three days apart, as is the case. This is the case between these two races.
Also, when the slightest grain of sand jams the beautiful mechanism, several hundred people find themselves in difficult conditions, not even to mention the equipment.
This is unfortunately what is happening at the moment since if charters 1 and 2 arrived safely, with all the MotoGP except those of the Aprilia, Avintia and Marc VDS teams, the two other planned flights have were strongly impacted by difficult weather conditions, a technical failure on one of the planes, and a failure of runway lighting at Tucuman airport. These two flights were therefore diverted to Santiago, Chile.
As a result, a small part of the equipment (mainly Moto3s, equipment from suppliers of helmets, forks, etc., equipment from the Mobile Clinic and Safety cars), as well as a few dozen people are currently experiencing significant delays in reaching Texas, the latter sometimes being obliged to go to major Argentinian airports after a journey of several hours by coach.
Clearly, unlike the Rio Hondo, this Argentinian weekend will never have been a long, quiet river and only the experience of the organizers makes it possible to deal with such imponderables without really impacting the following Grand Prix.
