Tension rises as the 4th round of the championship approaches World SBK Supersport which will take place at the Misano World Circuit – Marco Simoncelli from June 14 to 16.

What you need to know before this “Pirelli Emilia-Romagna”:

  • Spanish Adrian Huertas (Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team) leads the championship with 86 points.
  • The Italians Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) and Stefano manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) follow closely with 85 points. Manzi, who won the last WorldSSP race in Misano, is a strong contender for first place.
  • Marcel Schroetter (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) are in fourth place with 84 points, making the top four in the championship incredibly close, with just two points difference.
  • Federico Caricasulo (Motozoo ME AIR Racing) is the only other rider on the current grid to have taken a WorldSSP victory at Misano.

To add to the intrigue, the local pilot Lorenzo Baldassarri has changed teams and will now race for WRP-RT Motorsport by SKM-Triumph, while Jorge Navarro will race for Orelac Racing Verdnatura. These team changes could bring a new dynamic to the race, with Baldassarri particularly motivated to put in a good performance at home.

Add to this our two French representatives, Valentine Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team) and Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha), respectively 7th and 10th in the championship with 49 and 39 points, particularly eager to do well on the Italian Riviera, and there is little reason not to watch the races this weekend…

Also note that the Italian circuit was chosen to host the first round of the championship WorldWCR reserved for women, where 24 of them are entered to decide between the handlebars of Yamaha R7, including the two French women Emily Bondy et Ornella Ongaro.
