As is known, the presence of Lin Jarvis at the pre-event press conference in Jerez was intended to announce the departure of Jorge Lorenzo for Ducati.

It could also have been justified by the announcement of the arrival of Maverick Vinales at Yamaha in 2017; at 21 years old, he undoubtedly represents the future alongside the very experienced Valentino Rossi.
But this was not the case, which unequivocally meant that no contract had been signed to date in this sense.

The negotiations therefore continue in secret and the deal which seemed to have been agreed (Yamaha wants Vinales, Rossi wants Vinales and Vinales wants Yamaha) is undoubtedly delayed by a counter-offensive from Suzuki which is trying everything to keep its foal.

And all in all, that means money, of course (probably currently more than Yamaha), a competitive motorcycle, obviously, but also a noble cause, like that which would constitute reaching the summit with a motorcycle that the Spanish driver would have developed it himself, rather than slipping into the still warm sheets of Jorge Lorenzo.

There, in showing this card, we must recognize that Davide Brivio has done well, because he combines the beauty of the gesture with a certain right to error, which a stint at Yamaha would not allow; not so easy to be compared to Lorenzo, on an equal bike!

Apparently a little tossed by all this, Maverick Vinales does not hide his attraction to Yamaha, as he declared to crash.net after Jerez: “of course that makes me think, right? Because when you see (the Yamahas) first and second, while Aleix and I are fifth and sixth, you think a little. »

But the Figueras driver, in separation with his manager Aki Ajo, is still hesitant and is apparently not insensitive to the arguments put forward by Suzuki: “But I have confidence in Suzuki and I am sure that they can still show me results. »

In this usual game of lying poker, Maverick Viñales is actually doing quite well because he has a trump card; Yamaha has little choice but to find approval with the #25.

Because otherwise, the difficult question would arise, preceding a long deafening silence: “who?” »

Either way, the answer should now come fairly quickly...
